Biography Jon Bon Jovi was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on March 2,1962, and was raised in nearby Sayreville. His mother, Carol Sharkey (of Irish/Italian descent), was a U.S. Marine as well as a Playboy Bunny and his father, John Bongiovi Sr., also a Marine, was a barber of Italian ancestry.
