The Basics of Astrology
Mars and Jupiter in favorable aspect
Astrological aspects: general introduction
The analysis of a natal chart must be as comprehensive as possible. This is what we do as we make our personalized reports available in our e-shop. It must be borne in mind that many astrologers concentrate on the interpretation of planets in signs and in houses, and of angles, without paying enough attention to aspects. On the contrary, we believe that when aspects involve personal planets between themselves or slow-moving planets, they are of fundamental importance. In all cases, they are at least as significant as the Ascendant or the Sun. This is particularly relevant when the orb is tight (i.e. when the aspect is exact). This is the criterion we apply for this new series of articles which describe how well-known personalities experience certain aspects.
Mars and Jupiter in auspicious aspect
We consider the conjunction (when its natal condition is good), the sextile, and the trine together to illustrate a major auspicious aspect, because their similarities are significant.
Trines involve two identical elements and give the chart's owner great facilities in the areas indicated by the planets and the Houses at play. The downside is that everything seems so easy that one can let oneself be driven by events. Sextiles, almost as propitious, demand more commitment to become active. Their asset is that they benefit from the complementarity of two different elements. With both aspects, the benefit is optimal when they occur between appropriate signs (same elements for trines, and compatible elements for sextiles).
The conjunction demands that the forces of these planets are used simultaneously in all circumstances. One can rely on an often-dramatic strength; one exudes confidence and is a source of inspiration for others. The downside is also that one may sometimes miss the target by passivity.
When Mars and Jupiter get along well, the effects are usually noticeable by outsiders. Because these planets are well linked in the cases we examine here, we shall see that life events are tackled head-on.
Favorable Mars-Jupiter aspects bring about vitality, warmth, boldness, efficiency, and leadership. Action is first and foremost result-oriented and focused on concrete matters.
When a struggle starts, one does not give up; on the contrary, one gets involved with ardor and confidence. It is almost certain that efforts will be crowned with success.
This is a good aspect for material achievements as well as for the social and professional path, thanks to Jupiter, who gives the faith allowing to move mountains. Its amplifying action is even more obvious in the areas indicated by the Houses involved.
Let us also note the link between Jupiter and legal affairs. His support enables to plead for causes with passion and enthusiasm.
Charles de Gaulle
With a nice Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius in the 4th House, we are dealing with a personality who dedicated his energy to defend his country, or more exactly, the independence of his country. The conjunction in Aquarius probably prompted him to refuse to submit to the enemy.
The sextile with Mercury in the 2nd House (and with the Sun, by capillarity, bearing in mind that the latter is slightly too far to be part of the sextile strictly speaking) describes the power of eloquence at the service of one's beliefs.
With the gorgeous trine the Mars-Jupiter duet sends to Pluto and Neptune in the 8th, De Gaulle remains the embodied proof that it is possible to challenge death, or the axis of evil (the Nazis). Although General de Gaulle had a hectic destiny, and the end of his career was less flamboyant, this precise moment of History mainly seems to fit best the Mars-Jupiter conjunction.
To sum up, if this aspect is well-supported, it suits particularly well war leaders – Mars – while Jupiter endows with charisma and the vision to galvanize his troops with fervor.
Albeit De Gaulle was born with the Sun in Scorpio, when the concept of liberty is in Aquarius mode, it prevails over dangers.

In a quite different style than that of General de Gaulle, the actor Sebastian Stan too is a good example to describe this auspicious Mars-Jupiter aspect.
We could say that the latter planet weighs slightly more in the balance of this friendly tandem, since it rules the chart. In any case, Jupiter increases the action of Mars in Scorpio, although he could have limited himself to work thoroughly and with precision, but without such wide-range results.
In addition, here, Mars and Jupiter are posited in the 10th House, that of career, and enable Stan to develop more particularly the performance of a charismatic actor.
After having achieved fame with his role as Bucky Barnes in the Captain American trilogy and the Marvel world, Stan possessed the trumps cards to impose himself in this category.
It is obvious that he must not be reduced to these films only; it is certain that the comedian is perfect when he plays a hero whose peculiarity is that initially he had no super power. He managed to show us that, being athletic and an Olympic-level acrobat, this personage is nevertheless capable of anything.
Actually, in real life, Stan is quite similar to him. His motto could be: "Things will be all right. Maybe even better than just all right.", which is archetypal of an auspicious Mars-Jupiter pair.

Since his role in Titanic, Leonardo DiCaprio has been more than extensively occupying the place of one of the most bankable comedians in the world. Therefore, one can see all the advantage that this actor who started from scratch was able to get from a valiant Mars in Scorpio in the 2nd House, and from Jupiter in Pisces in the 6th House, both planets being linked by an exact trine.
To begin with, DiCaprio used the tenacity of his combative Mars, whom nothing can stop. In 1993, he was noticed as he directly played opposite Robert de Niro. The young comedian is fearless. Then, his boldness and his drive convinced the greatest directors (Cameron, Spielberg, Scorsese, etc.) to take him as their mascot.
Comfortable everywhere, he produced a positive aura that he owes to this pleasant configuration.
Thus, even though he had been ignored by the Academy Awards – for unknown reasons – he did not get disheartened.
This prompted him to work even harder for the very demanding role of a trapper struggling for life in The Revenant. He won his bet with flying colors.
Actually, the expression fits DiCaprio well, who is said to have amassed a fortune of over 260 million dollars.
Besides, it is interesting to underline that the two planets are involved in a Grand Trine with the Midheaven (career) in Cancer. Jupiter in the 6th provides attractive daily work, and the Water element adds special sensitivity to this endearing profile, giving him the will to advocate great causes such as ecology.

The sextile with Jupiter, in Pisces and in the 2nd House, enabled her to develop an almost unlimited prosperity, although by dint of hard work.
In secondary school, she started to assert herself in a very Mars-like way. She acknowledged that she used to be hyperactive and to feel more comfortable with boys. Her confession also highlighted the feeling of rivalry that she often sparked off herself or that she felt in other people.
Anyway, Mars in Capricorn endows with strong determination. When she decided to pursue a career in the mecca for the cinema, she spared no effort to reach her aim without anyone's help. When she eventually made a breakthrough, it was thanks to her provocative beauty, which displays the energy and the characteristics of Mars, and her personality, which never fears people's opinion.
For instance, she acknowledged that she tended to curse, and that she collected tattoos thoughtlessly, before calming down as she matured.
For a long time, she displayed the face of Marilyn Monroe on her forearm, perhaps to show her true ambitions to conquer the world. But she had it removed, since she fulfilled all her goals.
