Astrology and Couple Compatibility

In this series of articles, the rules that allow for an understanding of the nature of affinities between two partners based on their astrological chart are discussed. For this topic, it's crucial to differentiate between falling in love and feeling comfortable in the other's presence over the long term.

In our opinion, comparing charts doesn't answer the first question, which follows other rules, especially those related to timing. Indeed, an astrological chart undergoes continuous influences over time, and certain methods (transits, directions, solar return, etc.) describe these. Therefore, each partner may be in a favorable period for a meeting, or not. For the magic of love at first sight to happen, both partners need to be available at the same time.

Parallel to this, however, comparing two charts can provide a static diagnosis, determining whether the individuals have affinities or potential challenges to face. Synastry (the term for comparing two charts) is very useful in this context.

With both conditions met —a favorable period and suitable affinities — the probability of a successful encounter is higher. To this, one must add the complex issue of the ideal sought: for instance, it might be more "interesting" to be with someone different from oneself and thus less "compatible", depending on individual sensitivities...

A basic compatibility list for each sign is also described, out of curiosity, as a natal chart isn't just about the position of the Sun (its sign) or its Ascendant but encompasses many more elements.
