The Sun and Jupiter in favorable aspect

Astrological aspects: general introduction

The analysis of a natal chart must be as comprehensive as possible. This is what we do as we make our personalized reports available in our e-shop. It must be borne in mind that many astrologers concentrate on the interpretation of planets in signs and in houses, and of angles, without paying enough attention to aspects. On the contrary, we believe that when aspects involve personal planets between themselves or slow-moving planets, they are of fundamental importance. In all cases, they are at least as significant as the Ascendant or the Sun. This is particularly relevant when the orb is tight (i.e. when the aspect is exact). This is the criterion we apply for this new series of articles which describe how well-known personalities experience certain aspects.

The Sun in trine or in sextile with Jupiter

We consider the sextile and the trine together to illustrate a major auspicious aspect, because their similarities are significant. Trines involve two identical elements and give the chart's owner great facilities in the areas indicated by the planets and the Houses at play. The downside is that everything seems so easy that one can let oneself be driven by events. Sextiles, almost as propitious, demand more commitment to become active. Their asset is that they benefit from the complementarity of two different elements. With both aspects, the benefit is optimal when they occur between appropriate signs (same elements for trines, and compatible elements for sextiles).

Here we have the archetype of an aspect credited with an excellent reputation. The Sun represents our deep identity, our capacity to shine (depending on the energies of the sign in which he is posited), and our willpower. As for Jupiter, his effects are so beneficial that he is traditionally called the Great Benefic.

Above all, it must be remembered that he has an amplifier role in the fields concerned par the Houses involved. He reinforces the power of the planets, which work together and blend their respective qualities.

It is associated with expansion, optimism, wisdom, and joie de vivre if it is in good condition in the natal chart.

Linked in a trine or a sextile, the Sun and Jupiter give popularity, dynamism, charisma, and ambition.

These planets prompt to think big; they give visionary abilities and encourage generous commitments. Goals may be bold, because self-confidence is developed, and doubts are naturally excluded. As a consequence, they predispose to success in general, especially in politics, sometimes through religious calling, for they imply quest for meaningfulness, and in all cases regarding the social and professional destiny.

In order to better explain this aspect, we are mentioning several well-known personalities. This article deliberately isolates the said aspect so as to better describe it. For this reason, it claims on no account to be a psychological analysis of the celebrity in question, for whom many other articles are available in the "Focus" section.

It is possible to find thousands of other horoscopes having Sun and Jupiter in trine or in sextile (or other aspects), with the online tool search. The planets, positions in sign and in house as well as the orb, are configurable.

William of Wales

A member of the royal family, and grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, William of Wales is first in the line of succession to the throne. Looking at his natal chart, it is logical to imagine that he will be crowned someday, especially given the aspect we are focusing on.

Indeed, in his chart, the Sun just entered Cancer, and forms an exact trine with Jupiter at 0° Scorpio. Let us note in passing that this aspect involves a Sun which is in the same sign as his mother's, the late Princess Diana, while Jupiter is posited in the Sun sign of his father, King Charles III. William can be credited with the characteristics of this trine, which expresses itself in Water signs, and endows him with a great deal of empathy.

In such a case, the taste for power unfolds with generosity. Another advantage of this aspect, truly the predominant feature of the natal chart, is that both planets are in an angle and thus enjoy increased power. The Sun is on the cusp of the 7th House, that of relationships, and Jupiter is on the cusp of the 10, the career. Therefore, William can rely on the unconditional support of his people.

Some degree of good luck may also lead him to the highest-ranking position, or at least, help his future career, whatever it may be, not to mention the natal Moon, in conjunction with the Sun, who for this reason, is part of this very advantageous configuration.

Madonna

Louise Ciccone is the international pop artist par excellence. Coming from nothing, the singer and dancer has always believed in her lucky star. And she was right. In her chart, the Sun is in the commanding sign of Leo, at 23°, and in sextile with Jupiter in Libra. This aspect has given her the ambition required to rise from her initial status, while relying on people's assistance.

This is how she became known when she started out thanks to her dancing talents (the grace of the airy sign of Libra). Then the Sun-Jupiter aspect probably gave her the power to attract crowds and to sell millions of records.

The alliance of these planets works as if Jupiter instilled energy to increase the already strong ego and willpower of a person born with the Sun in Leo. Indeed, everything in Madonna's chart is placed under the symbol of gigantism: projects, concerts, persistence to conquer Hollywood.

Her wealth is estimated at 550 million US dollars in 2020. Madonna is definitely a material girl who claims to be a figurehead. "I won't be happy until I'm famous like God", she declared one day.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise / Author : Gage Skidmore / CC BY-SA (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)

Tom Cruise played in cult films in the early eighties and remains a giant in the American cinema. His Sun at 11° Cancer forms an exact trine with Jupiter thriving at 12° Pisces, the sign of which he is the second ruler. Ingredients are gathered to depict a star without borders, sometimes teased for his megalomania, but without undermining his huge popularity.

The actor has also been smart enough to produce his own blockbuster movies – especially Mission: Impossible – in which he was starring and the main asset.

This aspect does not prompt to modesty, and it must be acknowledged that in this field, Cruise has no complexes, and straightforwardly displays his confidence in his capacities to deal with the public and the media.

When he does not participate in blockbusters, he plays with the biggest artists and was excellent in art-house films. In addition, it must be noted that he managed to rise from his humble background thanks to his intuition; he marvellously illustrates the old saying: better to be envied than pitied.

Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton / Author : Bob McNeely, The White House / CC BY-SA (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)

The man who is considered one of the most popular American presidents has a chart with the Sun at 26° Leo in the 11th House, forming a nice sextile with Jupiter at 23° Libra in the 1st House. The exactness of the aspect and the fact that the Sun is in domicile deserve that we examine the achievements related to this lucky configuration.

First of all, we observe that this statesman has often used his charisma to climb the rungs of power and to reach the White House. He got re-elected with a substantial lead.

Clinton went through several personal scandals, the well-known affair with Monica Lewinsky. However, with the protection of Jupiter, he was finally acquitted and was able to complete his second term while retaining a high popularity rating, as if everything had been like water off a duck's back.

Since Jupiter represents law, Clinton did manage to use his great talents as an attorney for himself.

Today, he has given his support to the new president, Joe Biden, throughout the campaign which ended in the victory of the latter against Donald Trump.

Clinton then set an example for the Americans by getting publicly vaccinated against Covid-19. Focused on the future with his Sun in the 11th (projects and collective ideals), he is deeply and successfully committed in the struggle against climate change, through his foundation as well as in a personal capacity.
