As foreseen, the last Star Wars episode, The Force Awakens, broke records at its worldwide release, end of 2015. It is now the third movie which generated receipts of over three million dollars, which should make the creator of the saga happy, the scriptwriter of this episode, George Lucas.
And yet, this is not the case. The great director and producer recently told the media that he has sold his children to slave-traders - before laughing bitterly – as he referred to his company, Lucafilm, sold to Disney for four billion dollars in 2012. The movie-maker deplored the lack of creativity of the new team and considered that the 7th episode is very similar to A New Hope, the 4th episode of the saga, released in 1977. "They wanted to make a film for the fans. To make a retro film. I don't like it. I work very hard so that each film is different", he explained without concealing the disappointment caused by this new part.
Therefore, is it the discontent of an artist who has difficulty relinquishing the paternity of his work? Perhaps. Born with the Sun and the Ascendant in Taurus, with the 2nd sign considerably highlighted, along with the Fixed mode (dominating at 74,3% against the Cardinal and Mutable modes), George Lucas is not a champion in terms of adaptability. If the Disney firm had consulted an astrologer, it would have been warned that it was unlikely that Lucas would be enthusiastic about Disney taking over his project, whatever the future box office success might be.
With the Ascendant flanked by the Sun and Venus, George Lucas is definitely driven by a characteristically Taurus aesthetic vision. It spreads from a stable, productive, and resourceful basis. At the same time, such a position emphasises the addiction to possessions, including intellectual ones, since Mercury is also in Taurus and in the 12th House.
To recapitulate, the impression of strength and gentleness of Taurus emerges at the surface only, whereas inwardly, George Lucas is the type of person who broods over a host of questions without necessarily finding solutions or answers. Moreover, this trend is represented, or even stressed, by a T-square which is the main configuration of the chart. It links a bright Moon in Aquarius and in the 10th House to Venus on the Ascendant, and to Pluto in Leo. It is the least we can expect of someone who has built his career on a science-fiction adventure. In addition, if Aquarius had not been so powerful, it would have been incomprehensible. The Moon in this sign allowed George Lucas to give free rein to his vivid imagination, which does not even have the sky for limit. However, the Moon opposite Pluto and the planets in Taurus fights Lucas' taste for reality with almost the same passion.
Unique, brilliant, independent, and ahead of his time, George Lucas cannot help being interested in science and in the past (a mix of influences of the Midheaven cusp in Capricorn and Pluto in an angle). Here, the public find again a few founding themes of another successful saga, Indiana Jones, archaeology, and the quest for the Holy Grail.
Since it is necessary to acknowledge the preponderance of Venus, ruler of the Moon and of the Ascendant, and in an ever stronger angular position than that of Pluto, George Lucas managed to achieve a harmonious synthesis of these bubbling tendencies. He knew how to surround himself with loyal family members and friends who encourage him and enable him to realise his creative penchants according to his nature. He may give the feeling that he still is a big child in a toy shop, happy to make a living thanks to his dreams.
Nevertheless, given the fact that the upper left hemisphere clearly outweighs the other one, it must be noted that Lucas was predisposed to walk "his" path without considering other people too much. "Let he who loves me follow me" could be one of his favourite sayings.
We must also mention the sign of Leo, quite prominent owing to Jupiter and Pluto – although this is a generational position – which endowed George Lucas with the talent to embody a typical representative of the new Hollywood establishment. His personal wealth is among the biggest ones in the cinema industry. Last year, it was estimated at over 5 billion dollars. With such means, he can decide himself to take action when a project is particularly dear to his heart.
For the past few months, transiting Jupiter in Virgo offered a few nice material surprises to George Lucas, notwithstanding what he says, and perfectly supported these Taurus values. Lucas will be able to rely on Jupiter's journey in this friendly sign until the summer of 2016.

The following period should herald a slight lull, before the possible changes occurring as of 2021, when Pluto starts to transit the Midheaven, and when Uranus gets closer to Venus first and afterwards to the Ascendant. The results may not always be visible, because with slow-moving planets, the transformation may be internal only. Anyway, this dual influence will be there to last, and will have to be reckoned with. But this is a different story, and it is not up to us to travel back to the future!
