Analysis of Sigourney Weaver's astrological chart

Daily news regularly puts the spotlight on all sorts of famous people. Although we are not fond of juicy information, we inevitably have an idea about a given political figure, a movie star, a Royal Highness, or a skilled sportsman.

Those well-known faces draw our interest and seem familiar to us, because we watch their successes or their setbacks day by day.

Astrology may also be considered as an interesting filter to better define their personality, and to guess whether the events they experience are confirmed by their planets' activities. Astrology does not reveal everything, of course, but using the dominants and other peculiarities of the natal chart, we can see whether the astrological portrait matches the collective image or offers unsuspected additional nuances.

After Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck, here is an article about the popular Sigourney Weaver.

It is most likely that, at the bottom of her heart, Sigourney Weaver feels the need for balance and justice typical of people having the Sun in Libra. Unfortunately for her, and luckily for us, Weaver really stands out from the rest.

With her tall height and her impressive bearing, she is almost intimidating. But she also has a graceful face, both warm and determined, which contributes to make people feel comfortable. From an astrological viewpoint, her chart emphasises gentleness owing, precisely, to the prominence of Venusian signs – Libra, Ascendant in Taurus – in addition to the fact that Venus herself is highlighted.

Let us take a close look at Jupiter and the Moon, two angular planets quite important in the chart. The former culminates on the Midheaven, a House related to the social status, and indicates high probabilities of success for this atypical actress. Born in a wealthy environment, WASP – an acronym referring to White Anglo Saxon Protestant people of the East Coast – the girl whose name is still Susan Alexandra Weaver takes comedy and literature classes at Stanford.

She has bad memories of the humiliations inflicted by her teachers. Which is quite logical because with her dominants – Jupiter, the Moon, and Venus, as well as Libra and Taurus, it is obvious that comfort and quality of life matter to the star! Learning the hard way is not her favourite option...

It was under the inspiration of a character of Gatsby the great that she chose Sigourney as her first name. She might have been aiming at romantic stories. However, it was a science-fiction film which was going to change her life. As she started on the boards on Broadway, she was asked to play the role of Ellen Ripley in Alien. Although at first she was sceptical, fearing a caricature-like movie, she ended up accepting, and was more than convincing. Actually, it may seem strange that she captured the minds so deeply with this physical and tough role, which apparently has nothing in common with her planetary trends. But we must not forget that the ruler of her chart is in Scorpio. Venus in this sign corresponds to the heroism of the only survivor of a spaceship, who must turn into hibernation mode – in other words, an irreversible interruption of life – at the end of the first opus of the series. In addition, Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, forms an exact sextile with the Sun conjunct Neptune, and increases extremists tendencies.

In retrospect, there are many people who consider that Sigourney Weaver landed one of the best female roles, and that she turned the Alien saga into a great classic. Phew... Libra Ascendant got back on her feet! In addition to her Jupiter triumphing on the Midheaven, a real social and professional lucky charm, Weaver can also rely on the Moon conjunct the Ascendant axis. Even though these two planets are not linked to one another, they both refer to popularity. Therefore, it is not surprising that the public has always acclaimed Miss Weaver, and besides, that she is about to wear again the costume of the astronaut Ripley, at over 65!

As we carry out this brief portrait, we must pay attention to another role which stirred up debates then: that of Dian Fossey in Gorillas in the mist. The film, which tells the story of a primatologist's committed work in the depths of Africa, does fit the Taurus values of Weaver's chart. Well before ecology became fashionable, Sigourney Weaver managed to draw the attention of the public at large on the preservation of the environment. It must be said that her Moon, angular and in exaltation in Taurus, is particularly strong and explains her sensitive nature.

While the actress has always been discreet about her private life, without being on the front page for scandalous affairs, she probably used her astrological assets to achieve harmony. She has always insisted that she found happiness in her family, which she never sacrificed to her career. She was obviously right, since in 2015, it seems that she is the best paid woman in the world, after having raked in more than 80 million dollars. It is worth underlining that she is blessed with a natal chart having nice dominants and very few tough aspects.

The most important current transit is mainly Jupiter activating the high-voltage Mars and Pluto conjunction in Leo. They match the news about the signature of the new Alien film, which puts her again on the foreground with an action role. In the romantic area, however, Weaver is undergoing the weight of transiting Saturn conjuncting and smothering her Venus throughout 2015. Owing to her Sun in Libra, the tie between the two rulers of the sign portends a period of melancholy or the need to take stock of her marital life.

From mid-2017, she will experience very powerful transits. Pluto will quietly reach her Midheaven, while Jupiter will travel on her Sun in Libra. Later on, she will be able to rely on Uranus transiting her Ascendant in order to keep on surprising us... and herself as well!
