What a lucky chap Stromae (which means Maestro but reversed) is! Without intending to compete with the talented author and composer's puns, this is the first thing that comes to mind as we look at his natal chart. His configuration is not extremely rare, but here, it is particularly significant because of the two planets posited at the ends of his Bowl pattern, i.e. Mars in Aries, in the role of the leading planet, and Pluto in Scorpio, in the role of the trailing planet.
Therefore, this placid Sun in Pisces, so civilised and quiet on TV studios, might have a wilder and darker facet, like a rock star? In any case, this is what people who see him now on stage think. Getting back to the Bowl pattern, it reveals a very typical personality, aware of both his assets and his flaws. In his case, two planets, Mars and Pluto, are found respectively in the sign they rule, and are therefore able to unfold their energy in its purest and strongest form. But at the same time, as long as Mars and Pluto send a tight tense aspect (a square) to the MC, the career is the most visible feature of his destiny, which is torn between Mars' force, prompting to renewal and action, and Pluto's darker influence, holding on to a past that is difficult to come to terms with.
This is why it is not surprising to learn that this young Belgian often chose such dark themes in the songs he composes. For instance, the absence of the father, illnesses, or the vanity of things are the topics of his texts. Furthermore, if we study the symbolism of this configuration, we notice that anything lacking is represented by the other half of the Bowl, which is empty. The centre of the shortage is the IC, the family and the roots. Astrologers disagree over the meaning of the IC, which represents the mother or the father. In our view, it depends on each case. As for Stromae, his biography highlights the absence of the father, who did not recognise him legally, and then was found dead during the genocide in Rwanda. Paul Van Haver – his real name – was a precocious person and managed to channel his suffering or his existential questioning into music, a universe which got hold of him when he was only 11. As an echo of this first analysis, we also see a powerful Moon conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius, probably portraying his mother. The latter probably bore a quite heavy burden on her shoulders, though she kept the moderate and wise optimism of the 9th sign. He might have inherited this blend of reserve and modesty, characterised by a Moon influenced by Saturn, but also a vitality encouraged by the prospect of brighter days. Something like faith, all in all. Might this be translated some day in his compositions?
In any case, for the time being, as a genuine Sun in Pisces-Gemini Ascendant, Stromae is a brilliant chameleon. The mutable principle comes from a nervous Moon linked to Mercury. His intuitive perception of emotions is particularly strong: it starts in the collective subconscious, therefore unexpressed, and it is then put in inspired texts. Moreover, Stromae's androgyny is amazing. This feature is influenced by Gemini on the Ascendant, which represents his look. He impressed everyone when he appeared on Canal Plus, playing a man and a woman, Stromae and Stromae-She, for his songs. They are all the same. Yes, but nobody can beat him when he wears a long skirt and flutters eyelashes, then gives the line to his double, a kind of retro dandy.
Now, Stromae should start to feel the effects of Mars' long loop, starting on December 2013 and lasting until July 2014. For the reasons given above, i.e. his powerful configuration, and Aries tenanted by Mercury and a Venus-Mars conjunction, he is very likely to be even more seriously challenged. Mars will mainly confront himself and Venus, which is promising for his love life and his charisma.

Another crucial step, Saturn's return, usually around the thirties, will occur in December 2014. Here again, Saturn will confront himself, forcing Stromae to carry out the first appraisal of maturity, probably in the relationship area. His ties with women may also take a more serious turn then, unless he deems that the price to pay is too high.
