Many people consider that Sean Connery is the first, the one and only James Bond. Yet, his filmography includes over 70 films, several of which are masterpieces. Indeed, longevity is the hallmark of this Scotsman born miles away from the 7th art.
First of all, the predominance of the Earth element is striking in the natal chart. Connery owes this to the Sun in Virgo tightly conjunct Neptune, and especially, trine the Ascendant and Saturn in Capricorn.
Because he is posited in an angle and in his domicile, and because he is linked to the Sun, Saturn calls the shots, which illustrates well Connery's entire path.
He was born in a very modest family and, to help his family, at the age of 8 he started to work and took a milkman job. Images of bygone days, rather Saturnian owing to destitution and toil. Then he served his apprenticeship as a butcher, probably to make a living and become autonomous. Once again Saturnian, Connery spared no efforts. He did not shirk from coping with difficult living conditions. He joined the navy – perhaps the influence of Neptune conjunct the Sun in Virgo, a sign of service. But the experience was short-lived, because Connery had a stomach ulcer. Is it due to a quite dissonant Mars in Gemini in the 6th House? Possible.
In any case, aside from this issue, Connery can rely on his physical appearance. He is tall and brawny, a souvenir of his bodybuilding years, which led him to accept a proposal to play a minor role in a musical in 1951. This was his first step into the realm of art, which he came to appreciate. This did not prevent him from dedicating himself to sports, since he became a high-level football player.
What followed belongs to the legend. A decade later, the Broccoli brothers started a casting to find the future James Bond so as to give a face and especially a silhouette to Ian Fleming's hero. And Connery was chosen for the golden role from among 600 candidates.
Yet, he was almost perfectly an unknown despite a few appearances in films. Indeed, he had two assets: the charisma we are now used to, and telegenic sex-appeal. Incidentally, he costed less than such stars as David Niven... Once again, it was Saturn, by a twist of fate, who handed his destiny to Connery on a silver platter, since the planet represents scarce resources to be used wisely.
With Dr. No, Connery immediately rose to fame. Everywhere, his performance was found convincing, and people liked the film. He featured in several episodes of the adventures of Her Majesty's special agent. Being a Scotsman, a patriot very attached to his roots, he managed to give depth and credibility to his adventurer character.
In addition to the Sun and Neptune, Connery has the Moon in Virgo, conjunct Mercury in the last degrees of the sign. His emotions and his thinking pattern agree with the subtle energy of his inner self. His cinema success did not make his head swell, and he got noticed for the modest, sometimes stingy, way he managed his resources. People are aware of the tricks he found to avoid paying too many taxes; in addition, he has never been too effusive with his son, Jason.
In his private life, Connery demonstrated the same dignity and modesty as in other areas of his existence. It is well-known that married twice, the first time with an Australian actress, with whom he had the son mentioned above. The marriage ended in an ugly divorce, which is not surprising with Venus in the 8th House, opposed Uranus, and square Pluto in the 7th House. It is most likely that Connery is not easy to live with everyday. It may be that, far from the cameras, he displays some curtness and a need for independence which had to be overcome. In any case, he seems to more successful in the romantic area with his current wife, a French painter, with whom his marriage has been lasting for 40 years.
He also expressed his uncompromising need for freedom in his profession, since he took the risk of quitting the 007 part in order to broaden his sphere of action in the early seventies. In hindsight, considering the variety of characters he managed to play, it is undeniable that he did the right move.
From Highlander to Indiana Jones, including The Name of the Rose, Connery became a real fixture. However, as demanding as he was grumpy, he roundly criticized Hollywood circles when necessary, and declared many times that he wanted to retire. He did so more or less when he reached the age of 75 in 2005. Since then, he can be seen following with enthusiasm football or tennis matches.
Wholeheartedly Scottish, he also has the time to dedicate himself to another topic which is of highest interest to him, the independence of his "country". Once again, he demonstrates courage and originality. Anyway, his popularity is meant to withstand everything with a beautiful Jupiter in an angle and powerful in the 7th House.

It may be quite informative to watch the effects of transiting Saturn entering Capricorn, in December 2017. In this sign, in which the Ascendant and the dominant planet are posited, the actor may experience some sort of apotheosis on merit regardless of the forms of the benefits.
