Analysis of Javier Bardem's astrological chart

Daily news regularly puts the spotlight on all sorts of famous people. Although we are not fond of juicy information, we inevitably have an idea about a given political figure, a movie star, a Royal Highness, or a skilled sportsman.

Those well-known faces draw our interest and seem familiar to us, because we watch their successes or their setbacks day by day.

Astrology may also be considered as an interesting filter to better define their personality, and to guess whether the events they experience are confirmed by their planets' activities. Astrology does not reveal everything, of course, but using the dominants and other peculiarities of the natal chart, we can see whether the astrological portrait matches the collective image or offers unsuspected additional nuances.

After Bill Gates et Dakota Johnson, here is an article about the atypical Javier Bardem.

Focus Astro celebrity: Javier Bardem

Invalidating several astrological clichés can be easily done using the horoscope of Javier Bardem. The general public probably banks on a strong blend with a high level of testosterone of the Aries and South American macho type. This is not entirely true, especially at the first contact. Because Javier Bardem has the Sun in Pisces and the Ascendant in Libra, the most prominent sign of his chart. This makes him twice a Venusian as far as the base of his personality is concerned. Therefore, he is a man who does not need to prove his virility. On the contrary, we are dealing with a sensitive and nuanced person who is drawn to the arts and to beauty.

At the beginning, nothing seemed to predestine Javier Bardem, born in Las Palmas, in the Canaries, to an international career and this level of celebrity. However, he was an insider, since his father was a director and his mother, an actress. As a consequence of his parents' divorce, he moved to Madrid, the capital-city seething with creativity. It must be added that he was precocious. Indeed, at the age of six, he appeared in the film El Pícaro.

As he grew up, he asserted himself with the rugged features of his face and the powerful figure of antique heroes. Before the 7th art (really) welcomed him with open arms, he embraced a top-sportsman career to the extent that he was selected by the Spanish rugby national team.

Having said this, a few astrological interesting observations ought to be noted: Venus, the chart's ruler - i.e. the Ascendant's ruler - is precisely in Aries, the influence of which could be sensed, as mentioned above. The cardinal element is much highlighted. Bardem needs to undertake; he does not go round in circles, he barges in. And, last but not least, his Mars, posited in Sagittarius, is rather well aspected. Comfortable in this Fire sign, he is helped by a double conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus. So much passion, so much passion!

Let us recapitulate what should be remembered: Javier Bardem has a quite contrasting chart, with obvious components of gentleness and kindness, devoid of any aggressiveness. Nevertheless, he is a fighter, inclined to make use of his physical assets in many action films.

In 1992, his role in Jamón Jamón, by Bigas Luna, did not go unnoticed. At 23, he already radiated an animal strength which hits the bull's eye in this torrid movie, in which a certain Penélope Cruz is also starring. In those days, nothing special occurred between the two actors, who ran their business separately during many years with other partners.

Getting back to the chronology of his career, Javier Bardem plays a series of parts and earns the recognition of the best people. Since we are in Spain, it is logical that the ebullient Pedro Almodóvar spotted him and offers him the part of a paraplegic policeman in Live Flesh in 1997. In the slipstream of a man named Antonio Banderas, Bardem is selected to embody the new Latin seducer. As a result, the doors of Hollywood open up.

As he engages in an American career, he never chooses the easy way out. "I did everything in order to counter this image. I don't like the idea people have about me and about acting. Do you ask a plumber to be a sex symbol?" wonders Javier Bardem in an interview, he who can claim now that he has successfully imposed his true personality and not a living stereotype. He plays another difficult character, a homosexual author persecuted by Castro in Julian Schnabel's Before Night Falls, thanks to which he won a first Oscar nomination (for best actor). Relentlessly, he keeps on playing in the most demanding films with directors such as John Malkovich, Michael Mann or Milos Forman, just to cite a few.

2007 and 2008 are fruitful for Bardem, since he harvested heaps of praise for his performance of a psychopath in No Country for Old Men, by the Coen brothers, and received this time the Best Supporting Actor Oscar as well as a host of awards. He proved to be as good in Skyfall, one of the excellent instalments of the James Bond saga, and he can celebrate his first star on Hollywood Boulevard. The icing on the cake is Woody Allen enabling his to meet again Penélope Cruz on the set of Vicky Cristina Barcelona, where he plays a painter seducing one after the other two American friends who came to the Catalan capital looking for excitement.

This time, sparks fly between the two Hispanic actors, as if Destiny had waited until they mature so that these persons having quite similar origins understand one another. They have been married for nine years and are the happy parents of two children. In his private life, Bardem is discreet and modest, which may not be always easy, given the degree of fame of his couple. Apart from a few pictures at functions, or several shots where they are walking with a pram, neither he nor Penélope Cruz is willing to hit the headlines with their daily life. A quite Saturnian behaviour, bearing in mind that this planet is in its sign, conjunct Venus, and calms down all Aries' ardour. Posited in the 7th House, and trine the Moon in the 10th House, it probably illustrates the balance Bardem found owing to a prominent women. Would a real macho have accepted it?

Lastly, we see again the marks of his Pisces humanism through unusual commitments. Javier Bardem never hesitates to fight for forgotten conflicts, including that of Western Sahara. He also took (overly?) conformist stands in favour of Palestinian children, stigmatising Israel or France's policy.

In the spring of 2016, Javier Bardem started to feel the influence of transiting Uranus conjunct his Venus and his Saturn. Since this is the unpredictability planet, it is by definition impossible to hazard guessing precise events, except that they will certainly affect his romantic life. He, who is not too effusive, may be even more cerebral (Uranus) regarding the expression of his feelings. Luckily, transiting Saturn will soon trine the same natal Saturn-Venus pair, indicating that all major decisions will be taken after thorough pondering. Then, transiting Jupiter on the Ascendant, in 2017, promises to be much more fulfilling.
