Analysis of Bill Gates' astrological chart

Daily news regularly puts the spotlight on all sorts of famous people. Although we are not fond of juicy information, we inevitably have an idea about a given political figure, a movie star, a Royal Highness, or a skilled sportsman.

Those well-known faces draw our interest and seem familiar to us, because we watch their successes or their setbacks day by day.

Astrology may also be considered as an interesting filter to better define their personality, and to guess whether the events they experience are confirmed by their planets' activities. Astrology does not reveal everything, of course, but using the dominants and other peculiarities of the natal chart, we can see whether the astrological portrait matches the collective image or offers unsuspected additional nuances.

After Dakota Johnson and Mark Ruffalo, here is an article about the billionaire Bill Gates.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Here is a not particularly good-looking young man who prefers to spend his nights dealing with artificial intelligence instead of dating girls. We are in Seattle, in the late sixties. In those days, computers were still basic, in their infancy, and the geek in question is of course Bill Gates, a Scorpio with a Cancer Ascendant. With two Water signs shaping his personality, he is introverted, discreet and shy. Nevertheless, he does not lack self-confidence. When still an adolescent, he was convinced that some day he will be able to revolutionize the world. His natal chart shows that he is right. It is at the same time very special, rich, and paradoxical.

So, after the Sun-Ascendant combination, which explains Gates' first "ordinary" sides, one must assess several much more encouraging factors. A prominent Moon conjunct the Midheaven (synonymous with popularity or fame), rules the chart. She is 180° away from Mars, in an angle too.

This opposition reinforces the two planets, which perform a weird role-play. The Moon is shaken up and impulsive in Aries and in the 10th House, a sign and a House having nothing to do with his deep aspirations. Indeed, young Bill Gates is determined to make a difference with his professional skills, using his creativity and his instinct. Simultaneously, the Moon's aspect to Mars – who is her ruler, since he rules Aries – increases Gates' ardour and probably his will to take action. As for Mars, he is not too comfortable in Libra, where he is in exile according to the tradition, and in the house of roots and childhood, under the reign of "feminine" values... poor Mars, almost denatured, feminised, whereas the Moon is conversely masculinised!

It is actually interesting to elaborate on the numerous consequences of this configuration. As we can see, had it be negatively experienced, it could have resulted in an ill-at-ease young boy undergoing problems with his place in society as well as at home. Although the Moon and Mars are not in mutual reception, we can draw a reasoning quite similar to this case, for the reasons put forward above, i.e. by taking into account the natural rulership of both Houses and signs. Thus, inspired by the astrologer André Barbault, for instance, we could venture that these planets are thrown in a criss-cross in which each planet refers to one another in a common amplifying resonance. This is precisely what we wanted to address: Bill Gates integrated perfectly well this inner contradiction, managing, somehow, to get into every home thanks to his revolutionary invention. In 1975, the creation of the company Microsoft opened new unsuspected economic fields. Few people embody so strongly their business. This is made possible perhaps owing to the 4th-10th Houses alliance against an Aries-Cancer backdrop. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the emphasis of these elements point to the same dangers and the same challenges. Water and Fire prevail in Bill Gates' natal chart. However, the first element has not extinguished the flame, definitely not.

Cogwheels run smoothly. The Moon on the Midheaven forms an exact trine with Uranus rising in the 1st House in Leo, and is part of the dominants too. The Moon provides Gates with a decisive power which has enabled him to compete with and even surpass the greatest personages of the world. The capital of revolutionary innovation is therefore plentiful. The Ascendant axis in Water receives the trine, equally nice, of Venus conjunct Saturn. In private, Gates is serious, true to his beliefs, and committed. It may be his philanthropic side which expresses itself, as he promotes humanitarian projects and fights poverty across the planet.

It is impossible not to mention the analysis of his financial potential, given a personal wealth amounting to nearly 80 billion dollars. With a Jupiter-Pluto conjunct in Leo, but above all, in the 2nd House, that of money earned, Bill Gates has got a real knack for turning anything he touches into gold. This occurs certainly to the detriment of some enjoyment or some lightness, since the two planets square Venus and Saturn in the 5th House. Nonetheless, they endow him with a strike force that he has used profusely.

One of his well-known extravagances is his house, still in Seattle where he was born, the worth of which is estimated at 125 million dollars with a surface area of 6 000 square meters, and equipped with screens displaying digital reproductions of great masters, and where is kept the Hammer Codex, a 72-page notebook by Leonardo da Vinci, purchased for 30.8 million dollars at Christie's auction house. Love does not count the cost. Or almost, since in the nineties, like Warren Buffett, Gates set up the most important private foundation in the United States in order to support his commitments.

He is also among those who launched The Giving Pledge, a campaign aiming at encouraging other billionaires to give away at least half of their wealth to charities now or upon their death. The whole initiative is expected to bring in 600 billion dollars to charities. As a good Scorpio, Gates knows that he can thus earn some sort of... rebirth.

He experienced a few major and interesting transits during these last years, including transiting Uranus on the MC and on the Moon. Gates has completed his parting with Microsoft in February 2014 by relinquishing the presidency.

Uranus has started only now to move away from the Moon, still in the 10th House, and is reaching Mars' opposition. This is an indirect proof of the potency of this configuration regarding Gates' life and his choices in terms of social status.
