Chiron is almost renowned and used everywhere. Most astrologers consider it as a kind of "mediator" between Saturn and outer planets. The Vertex, sometimes called counter-Ascendant, is a fictitious point which is at the intersection of two great circles, the Ecliptic and the great vertical circle (Prime Vertical) in the West of the birthplace, linking the East, the Zenith, the West, and the Nadir. It is always located in the West of the chart around the Descendant. It is the chart's fifth angle, so to speak, less important than the other angles. Its interpretation is controversial, because certain astrologers pay no attention to it.
The Vertex is sometimes considered to be the second Descendant because, like the latter, it is related to communication and exchanges. About this event
90377 Sedna, or simply Sedna, is a large planetoid in the outer reaches of the Solar System that was, as of 2020, at a distance of about 85 astronomical units (1.27×1010 km; 7.9×109 mi) from the Sun, about three times farther than Neptune. Spectroscopy has revealed that Sedna's surface composition is similar to those of some other trans-Neptunian objects, being largely a mixture of water, methane, and nitrogen ices with tholins. Its surface is one of the reddest among Solar System objects. It is a possible dwarf planet. Sedna is approximately tied with 2002 MS4 and 2002 AW197 as the largest planetoid not known to have a moon.
For most of its orbit, it is even farther from the Sun than at present, with its aphelion estimated at 937 AU (31 times Neptune's distance, or about 1.5% of a light-year), making it one of the most distant-known objects in the Solar System other than long-period comets.
Sedna has an exceptionally long and elongated orbit, taking approximately 11,400 years to complete and a distant point of closest approach to the Sun at 76 AU. These facts have led to much speculation about its origin. The Minor Planet Center currently places Sedna in the scattered disc, a group of objects sent into highly elongated orbits by the gravitational influence of Neptune. This classification has been contested because its perihelion is too large for it to have been scattered by a known planet, leading some astronomers to informally refer to it as the first known member of the inner Oort cloud. Others speculate that it might have been tugged into its current orbit by a passing star, perhaps one within the Sun's birth cluster (an open cluster), or even that it was captured from another star system. Another hypothesis suggests that its orbit may be evidence for a large planet beyond the orbit of Neptune.
Astronomer Michael E. Brown, co-discoverer of Sedna and numerous other possible dwarf planets, thinks that it is the most scientifically important trans-Neptunian object found to date, because understanding its unusual orbit is likely to yield valuable information about the origin and early evolution of the Solar System.
The dominant planets
Why is it interesting to study an event's astrological chart? The natal chart, dominant planets and their distribution for "Sedna discovery" for example? Because a branch of astrology analyses events by referring to the astrological chart of their creation or beginning. Thus, it is possible to cast the chart for a company, a city, a country, an earthquake, a scientific discovery and so forth.
Through chart analysis and forecast, this branch of astrology provides information about the quality of a given event and reviews its positive or negative potential (success of a company, a project, an encounter etc.). Or it can simply allow you to analyse the static natal chart itself (natural disaster, invention etc.) for astrological research purpose.
Of course, in the case of these mundane or specific event charts, an astrological portrait is irrelevant. But all the rest remains valid: dominants, statistics for the positions of planets, signs, houses etc. These kinds of charts' interpretative techniques constitute a full-fledged discipline in itself, different from that of personal charts.
One must be careful when interpreting those event charts for two reasons: firstly, the major difficulty is to determine the exact date that symbolizes the event - and the exact time if possible. If we take, for example the creation of a company, there are several possible dates: the date when the partners agreed to create it is a first possibility; the date the statutes were registered, or the date of the company's legal incorporation, shortly afterwards, are also valid. We could also imagine that the date and time of the creation of its name also represent its birth. In any case, the issue is to identify "what symbolically represents best the creation of that event". This is the real first difficulty, in most cases.
The other reason why one must be cautious is only because this discipline is more difficult to study - its outcomes are less reliable than those of a personal chart. Good results are yielded, indeed, but pleading in favour or against it is not the point here. The technique exists, just as mundane astrology and the study of planetary cycles are there to explain world events located in space and time.
