Early life Kenny Chesney was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, to school teacher father David Chesney and hair dresser mother Karen Chandler. He has a younger half-sister, Jennifer Chandler. He was raised in Luttrell, Tennessee, and attended Gibbs High School in Corryton, Tennessee, where he was a receiver on the football team.
