William Reid (born 28 October 1958, Glasgow, Scotland) is a guitarist, composer and, at times, singer for the Scottish alternative rock band, The Jesus and Mary Chain. William, along with his brother Jim, the lead singer, formed the (at times unstable) core of the band. The early sound of The Jesus and Mary Chain (JAMC) was defined by Reid's extremely distorted and feedback laden guitar work, often using the Shin-ei Companion WF-8 fuzz/wah box to get his unique sound.
